How many confirmations does a crypto deposit need?
Last updated:
The number of confirmations is set per network and shown on the deposit page when you choose the coin and network. Your deposit is credited once it reaches that number.
What is a block confirmation?
When your transaction is added to a block on the blockchain, it has one confirmation. Each new block added after it counts as one more confirmation. More confirmations make it very unlikely that the transaction can be changed, which is why exchanges wait for a set number before crediting a deposit.
Why do networks need different numbers?
Blockchains create blocks at different speeds and have different security models. That is why the number of confirmations, and the time they take, differ between networks such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, TRON or Solana.
Where can I see how many confirmations my deposit needs?
- Open Deposit crypto.
- Choose the coin and the network.
- The required confirmations are shown on the page with your address and the minimum deposit.
How do I follow my deposit?
Open Crypto history. A deposit that is waiting for confirmations has the status Pending. When it reaches the required number it is credited and becomes Completed. You can also look up the TxID on a block explorer to see how many confirmations it has.
How long will it take?
It depends on the network and how busy it is. We cannot give a fixed time, but you can watch the confirmations increase on a block explorer.
If the transaction has enough confirmations on the explorer and is sent to your address on the right network but is still not credited, report it in Wallet issues.
