Why was my P2P order cancelled or expired?

Last updated:

A P2P order is cancelled automatically when the buyer does not mark it as paid within the payment time limit. A buyer can also cancel before marking it as paid. When an order is cancelled, the crypto in escrow goes back to the seller.

Why do orders expire?

Every ad has a payment time limit, shown as a timer in the order. If the buyer has not tapped paid when the timer ends, the order is cancelled. This stops a seller's crypto from being locked forever.

Can I get more time?

Some ads allow the payment time to be extended once. If the option is shown in your order, you can use it before the timer ends.

Who can cancel an order?

  • The buyer can cancel before marking the order as paid.
  • Once the buyer has marked the order as paid, it cannot simply be cancelled. Problems are handled by an appeal.

What happens to the crypto?

Nothing is lost. The seller's crypto stays in escrow during the order. When the order is cancelled or expires, it is released from escrow back to the seller.

I already paid, but the order was cancelled

This can happen if you paid but did not tap paid before the timer ended. Contact the seller in the order chat and ask for a refund of your payment. If you cannot solve it, contact support with your order details.

Always tap paid as soon as you have sent the money, and never pay for an order that has already been cancelled.

Why can't I open a new order?

  • There is a limit on how many orders you can cancel per day. Reaching it can stop you from opening new orders.
  • The number of open orders is limited, and you can have only one open order with the same counterparty.
  • You may not meet the ad's requirements, such as country, account age or minimum holdings.

FAQ

Does a cancelled order affect my account?

Cancellations count toward a daily limit. Too many can stop you opening new orders for a while.

Can the seller cancel my order?

Unpaid orders expire automatically at the end of the payment time. After you mark paid, any problem goes through an appeal.
