Why was my futures order rejected?

Last updated:

A futures order is rejected when it breaks one of the pair's rules or your balance cannot cover it. The error message tells you which rule; the most common ones are explained below. Each pair's limits are on Trading rules.

Account and balance

  • "Your futures trade is not enabled": enable futures on the trading page first by accepting the Futures Service Agreement.
  • "You have no permission of futures trade": futures trading is turned off for your account. Contact support.
  • "Insufficient wallet balance. Cost increased due to quick market or mark price change": the cost (margin plus estimated fee) is more than your available Futures balance. Use a smaller size or transfer more USDT.
  • "Amount is too high. Max ...": the size is above what your available balance allows at your leverage.

Price

  • "Your price is too high/low": a limit price must be within a percentage of the market price, set per pair.
  • "Limit price can't be higher/lower than ...": a limit price must also be within the cap and floor around the mark price.
  • "Your stop price is too high/low" or "Stop price can't be equal to market price": the stop-limit price is outside its allowed band, or the stop price is the same as the market price.
  • "Take profit / Stop loss price must be greater/lower than order price": TP or SL is on the wrong side for a long or short.

Size and position

  • "Minimum / Maximum order amount is ...": the size is outside the pair's order limits.
  • "Max position size is exceeded": the position would be larger than the tiers allow. Lower the size or the leverage.
  • "Your order limit exceed. Max limit order is ...": you have too many open orders. Cancel some in Open orders.
  • "You need to hold your position minimum ... minute": the pair has a minimum holding time before you can close or reduce.
  • Reduce-only errors: see what reduce-only means.

Market orders

"The counter party best price ... does not meet the current market price": there are not enough orders on the other side of the book at an acceptable price to fill a market close. Try a smaller amount or a limit order.

Settings

"Invalid margin mode" or "This margin mode cannot be changed while you have an open order/position": refresh the page so the form uses your current margin mode, and close or cancel on that pair before switching. For leverage errors, see how to change leverage.

If the message says "Order can not be filled now, try later" or "Position process in progress", the system is still processing a previous action on that pair. Wait a moment and try again.

SSS

My balance looks enough. Why is it insufficient?

The cost includes margin plus an estimated fee, and your available balance already excludes margin used by other positions and open orders.

Where can I see the limits for a pair?

On Trading rules: order amount limits, price limits, stop price limits, fees, cap and floor, and max open orders.
