TradFi: trading tokenized gold, stocks and forex

Last updated:

TradFi (traditional finance) markets on Xoibit list tokenized assets: crypto tokens that are designed to follow the price of a real-world asset, such as gold, a company share or a currency. You trade them against USDT, like any other pair.

What do I own?

You own the token, not the underlying share, gold or currency. What the token represents, how it is backed and whether it can be redeemed is set by the token's issuer. Read the issuer's terms before you trade.

How the price works

The price on Xoibit is the market price of the token. A tokenized asset is built to track its underlying asset, but the two can differ, especially when the underlying market is closed (for example a stock exchange at night or at the weekend) or during fast moves.

Trading hours

Token pairs trade 24/7. Outside the underlying market's hours there is usually less liquidity, wider spreads and larger price moves when that market opens again.

Spot and futures

Where a TradFi pair is listed on futures, its maximum leverage is set per pair and shown on Trading rules. The rules in Perpetual futures apply.

Risks

  • You do not own the underlying asset or get its shareholder rights.
  • The token can trade above or below the underlying asset's price.
  • Liquidity can be thinner when the underlying market is closed.
  • Leverage increases both gains and losses, and positions can be liquidated.
  • Tokenized stocks, commodities and forex may be restricted or regulated where you live. Check your local rules.

Часто задаваемые вопросы

Do I get dividends on tokenized stocks?

Not from Xoibit. Any rights attached to a token are set by its issuer.

Why is the price different from the stock market?

You see the token's own market price. It tracks the underlying asset but can differ, especially when that market is closed.
