How to enable Google Authenticator on Xoibit

To enable Google Authenticator, open Security, press Enable next to Google Authenticator, scan the QR code with the app, save the backup key and enter the 6-digit code from the app. From then on you can use the app's codes to confirm logins and withdrawals.

Why use Google Authenticator?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) means a password alone is not enough to access your account. Codes from an authenticator app are created on your phone, so they do not depend on email or SMS delivery. You can also use email or SMS codes, but the app is the recommended option.

Step by step

1. Install Google Authenticator from the App Store or Play Store.
2. Open Security and press Enable next to Google Authenticator, or go straight to Enable Google Authenticator.
3. In the app, add an account and scan the QR code shown on the page.
4. Write down the backup key and keep it somewhere safe and offline.
5. Enter the 6-digit code from the app and complete the setup.

Keep your backup key private and offline. It lets you restore your codes on a new phone. Anyone who has it can create your codes.

Where will I need the code?

Verification codes protect sensitive actions, including:

• Withdrawals, and adding or deleting withdrawal addresses.
• Changing your password, email or phone.
• Login 2FA and device verification settings.
• Security questions, the anti-phishing code and logging out other devices.
• Payment methods, sending gift cards and API keys.

The code from the app does not work

• Make sure your phone's date and time are set automatically.
• Use the code for the right account in the app if you have several.
• Enter the code before it changes in the app.

What if I change or lose my phone?

If you still have the backup key, add it to the app on your new phone. If you lost both, follow Lost Google Authenticator.
