How to appeal a P2P order (open a dispute)
Last updated:
You can appeal a P2P order after the buyer has marked it as paid. Either the buyer or the seller can open the appeal from the order page. Our team reviews the order and either releases the crypto to the buyer or returns it to the seller.
When should I appeal?
- As a buyer: you paid and marked the order as paid, but the seller does not release the crypto.
- As a seller: the buyer marked the order as paid, but the money has not arrived, or the amount or name is wrong.
Try the order chat first. Many problems are just a delayed bank transfer.
How do I open an appeal?
- Open the order from P2P.
- Choose to appeal (open a dispute) and give the reason.
- Describe what happened and add your proof.
- Keep checking the order and reply to any questions from our team.
What proof should I give?
- Buyer: the payment receipt or bank statement showing the amount, date, the receiver's details and a reference.
- Seller: a statement from your bank or payment app showing that no matching payment arrived.
- Messages from the order chat.
How is it decided?
Our team reviews the order, the chat and the proof from both sides. Then the crypto in escrow is either released to the buyer or returned to the seller. The crypto stays locked in escrow until the decision.
Keep all talk inside the order chat. Messages sent outside Xoibit cannot be checked and make an appeal harder to prove.
How can I avoid disputes?
- Buyers: pay the exact amount from an account in your own name and tap paid only after paying.
- Sellers: release only after checking your own account, never on a screenshot.
- Read the ad's terms before placing an order.
